Plate No. 6 : Patterns and Color Harmonies

For Plate No. 6, create a pattern and use a particular color harmony for its colors.

For your reference: Our Lecture -----> COLOR HARMONY

For example, this first one is a pattern with a TRIADIC Color Harmony, using red, yellow and blue.

The next one is a pattern with an ANALOGOUS Color Harmony, using yellow orange, orange and red orange

SPLIT COMPLEMENTARY, using the colors blue, yellow orange and red orange

Your design need not be too complicated.

Even if you just use the Shape Tools in Photoshop, you can already create a good design.

For example, this design is made up of just squares / triangles.

What kind of patterns will you make?

Whatever you want.

But there should be:
1) a repetition of elements
2) usage of a particular color harmony.

It can be made up of the simplest shapes and curves.
It can be geometric. It can be a mixture of animal prints.
It can be a doodle/drawing that you made by hand, scanned and colored in Photoshop.
It can be complicated with a lot of elements, shapes and figures.
Any pattern at all.

Remember, do not COPY from the internet.
You may be inspired by a work you found on the internet, but do not COPY the whole idea/artwork.
Create your own.

Some sample works that do not necessarily showcase a particular harmony.
Just to give you an idea / inspiration:

Works by Andy Gilmore

(Left) 1960's pattern, (Right) Liz Kroutz

Works by Sophie Roach
* This is hand drawn. You may also use a pattern that you drew by hand, scan it then color on PS.
